Baptism has nothing to do with salvation

SPIRITUAL MYTH #6 “Baptism has nothing to do with salvation” Written on June 29, 2014 by Bob Russell You often hear it said in evangelical circles, “Once you give your life to Christ, you need to be baptized as the first act of obedience.  However, baptism has nothing to do with your salvation.  You are…

Adopt A Revolutionary Motto For Your Life

In the early formation of our nation George Washington had the opportunity to become king of the burgeoning nation. But given the young nation’s experience with England and because he had a robust prayer life he knew there was only one King, so he declined the offer. King Jesus The people of the land apparently…

Man of God Marries Hustler

Verizon Wireless created one of the most memorable marketing campaigns ever in 2005. In their commercials a so-called “test man,” accompanied by a crowd of network engineers, travels the country asking the simple question, “Can you hear me now?” in an ongoing exercise to determine the reliability of the mobile phone carrier’s network. The “catch…

Pay Attention To The Ripple Effect

The decisions you make and the actions you take affect those around you. Rehoboam learned that lesson the hard way. Rehoboam followed his father Solomon to the throne of Israel. Solomon had exacted harsh labor on the people. A delegation, led by Jeroboam, went to the new king and asked him to take away the…

CHRISTIAN OR CHRIST-CENTERED?

It is not enough to be a Christian home, especially in our culture. The only thing that is enough is to be a Christ-centered family. THE DIFFERENCE Now, you may be saying, “What’s the difference? I don’t see any difference.” Well, there really shouldn’t be a difference but unfortunately, in our culture today, the word…

Chain Saw Party at Ministry Center
Jul 26 @ 8:00 AM – 9:00 AM

We have a great facility on Lucks Lane from which to operate the ministry of New Venture. The problem is, the community doesn’t even know about us. One of the biggest reasons is that we are hidden from them. We are like a light on a hill that is covered up with trees and underbrush. We need to let our light shine and our location illuminate.

So we have scheduled a chain saw party for Saturday morning, July 26 beginning at 8AM. Bring chain saws, trimmers with underbrush attachments, gloves, loppers and anything else that will help in the clearing process. We also need trucks and trailers to haul the underbrush from the front to the back of the property. And don’t forget gloves, goggles and long pants.

If you are available to help would you shoot me back a confirmation ASAP so we can plan our work party? Besides it being work it is going to be a lot of fun. But most of all it is going to be eye opening to the community.

We aren’t a city on a hill but we are a ministry center on a hill. Lets shine!

Let Steve Thornton know ASAP.
